Co-Chairs of the Working Group for Building Trust in the Election Process Mr Milutin Simović MA and Mr Srđan Milić spoke today with Ms Alexandra Cas-Granje, Director for Montenegro, Macedonia, Turkey and Iceland to the Directorate General for Enlargement of European Commission. Co-Chairs informed Ms Cas-Granje on the scope of work that needed to be implemented by the Working Group, as well as activities implemented so far. They pointed out the positive ambiance and work dynamics at the Working Group meetings, characterised by openness, constructiveness, and responsibility.
The meeting was mostly dedicated to constitutional changes and their significance for further democratic processes in Montenegro. Co-Chairs of the Working Group and President of the MP Group of Democratic Party of Socialists Mr Milutin Simović MA expressed optimism with regard to constitutional changes. Co-chair of the Working Group and President of the MP Group of Socialist People’s Party Mr Srđan Milić emphasised that his party would intervene to the proposed amendments to the Constitution of Montenegro, by proposing amendments to certain solutions in proposed amendments. They will also inform the European Union Delegation on the proposed amendments. Today’s meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Mitja Drobnič, Head of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro.
