The members of Security and Defence Committee and the members of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the NATO PA met today with the advisors of the Government of Montenegro in the European integration process and defence system reform Mr Paige Reffe and Mr Bain Ennis.

In accordance with the Plan of Parliamentary Oversight, the Members of the Security and Defence Committee will visit the Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday, 29 January 2014. 

Members of the Security and Defence Committee and members of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the NATO PA will meet with the advisors of the Government of Montenegro in the European integration process and defence system reform Mr Paige Reffe and Mr Bain Ennis.  

In addition to EU Counter-terrorism Coordinator Mr Gilles de Kerchove, the following participated in the work of the meeting: Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro Mr MitjaDrobnič, Head of the Political Sector to EU Delegation Mr Alberto Cammarata and Political Adviser to EU Delegation Ms Annalisa Giansanti; during the meeting, the significant role of the Parliament, as umbrella institution in creating adequate legislative framework, was emphasised, as well as its responsibility in efficient and successful implementation of the parliamentary control.

Meeting Mr Nuhodžić – Mr Kerchove

Chairperson of the Security and Defence Committee Mr Mevludin Nuhodžić will meet European Union Counter-terrorism Coordinator Mr Gilles de Kerchove.

During the meeting, a consultative hearing of the military and diplomatic representative of Montenegro, the Lieutenant Colonel Hajrudin Đerekarc was held, before assuming the office of Defence Attache in the Federal Republic of Germany – Berlin, and Republic of Poland, Kingdom of the Netherlands and Kingdom of Denmark on non-residential basis.

During the meeting, the Amendments to the Proposal for the Law on Protection of Persons and Property considered. 

In the meeting, the Proposal for the Law on the Final Budget Statement of Montenegro for 2012 with the Report on the Audit of the Final Budget Statement of Montenegro for 2012 in part relating to the  following consumer units: Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior and the National Security Agency was considered.
