On the occasion of celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of entering into force of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro and the NGO “Civic Alliance” will hold a Press Conference in the Parliament of Montenegro, on 3 September 2013, starting at 11:00, in the Blue Room of the Parliament of Montenegro. 

Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms Dr Halil Duković participated in the first public walk of LGBT persons, held in Budva today.

At their session held today, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms considered multiple items of the agenda, thus implementing the thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth activity established by the 2013 Activity Plan of Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms.

Chairperson of Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro Dr Halil Duković and the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Dr Ljiljana Đurašković will meet with the co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Ms Nursuna Memecan and Mr Kimmo Sasi. 

The Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro did not hold fourteenth meeting due to the lack of quorum and commitments of a number of MPs, being abroad for official duties.

Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, at the meeting held today, considered the Proposal for the Law on Strike, submitted by the Government of Montenegro.

Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro Dr Halil Duković and Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Ms Ljiljana Đurašković, PhD met with Mr Frank La Rue, Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression of the UN Council for Human Rights and his associates from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Mr Stee Asbjonsen and Mr Marcelo Daher.

Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Halil Duković, PhD, and the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Ms Ljiljana Đurašković, PhD will meet with Mr Frank La Rue, Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression of the UN Council for Human Rights, who will be visiting Montenegro from 12^th to 17^th June 2013. The meeting will be held on 14^th June 2013 at 14:00, in the Red Room of the Parliament of Montenegro.
