Information from the Eighth Meeting of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, held on 29th March 2013.

At the Seventh Meeting held today, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms introduced with the activities competent state authorities conducted in the aim of fulfilling Recommendations from the Resolution 1890 (2012) of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe “Honoring of Obligations and Commitments by Montenegro”, adopted on 27th June, 2012 in PACE.

 

 

Delegation of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro, composed of: Dr. Halil Duković, Chairman of the Committee, Ms. Ljiljana Đurašković, PhD, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, the members, Mr. Srđa Popović, Docent PhD, Mr. Kemal Zoronjić Ms. Ljerka Dragičević, Ms. Snežana Jonica, and Mr. Dritan Abazović, MA, are paying a two day visit to the Croatian Parliament and other relevant institutions of the Republic of Croatia, that deal with issues of protection of human and national minority rights.

On its sixth meeting, held on 6th March 2013, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro decided to implement a Study visit to the Committee on Human and National Minority Rights of the Croatian Parliament, from 19th to 22th March 2013, and in such manner to implement the activities set out in the Activity plan of the Committee on 2013, which had not been implemented in the previous year due to calling for the early parliamentary elections.

At the continuation of the Fifth Meeting, held today, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms considered the Report on Work and manner of allocation of resources of the Fund for Protection and Realization of Minority Rights for 2011.

The Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, Mr. Halil Duković, PhD and the Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee, Ms. Ljiljana Đurašković, PhD and members of the Committee: prim. Dr Izet Bralić, Ms.  Ljerka Dragičević and Mr. Kemal Zoronjić met today with Mr. Milisav Korać, executive director and Mr. Slobodan Vuković, representative of the of Union of association of parents of children and youth with disabilities “Our Initiative”,  by which the cooperation established at the beginning of 2010 continued, with the aim to contribute to solving the issue of children and youth with development disabilities and improving their status in the society

The Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, Mr. Halil Duković, PhD and the Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee, Ms. Ljiljana Đurašković, PhD will meet with representatives of Union of association of parents of children and youth with disabilities ”Naša inicijativa“ (Our Initiative), on Friday, 15th March, 2013 at 2:30 pm in the Blue Room of the Parliament of Montenegro.

At the meeting held today, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms considered the Plan of Activities of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms for 2013 made on the basis of: the European Commission Progress Report on Montenegro for 2012; the Program of the work of the Government of Montenegro for 2013, adopted on 31st January, 2013 as well as a number of implemented activities from the Plan of Activities of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms for 2012.
