At its twelfth meeting held today, the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms considered Report of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro as the national preventive mechanism (NPM) on the state in the Remand Prison Podgorica and the Report of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro on the abuse of children on the Internet and thus eleventh and twelfth activity determined by the 2013 Activities Plan of the Committee have been implemented. 

 

Performance report on Ombudsman and Status Report on Protection of Personal Data considered

 

Control hearing of the ECRI National Coordinator for Montenegro, Ms Blanka Radošević-Marović, Assistant to the Minister for Human and Minority Rights, held.

 

Multiple items on the agenda had been considered.

The Meeting was organised as a part of the joint project of the Council of Europe and European Union titled “Promoting Human Rights and Minority Protection in South East Europe”.

The Committee unanimously adopted the Decision on Control hearing.

It is necessary to provide continuous education of young children on safe ways of use of Internet and take actions and measures on conducting campaign in the aim of rising awareness of professional and broader public on this topic.
