Winter Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, being held in Strasbourg, in the period 27-31 January 2014 – day two
On day two of the Winter Session, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Mr Thorbjørn Jagland addressed Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, inviting Council of Europe member states to ratify the revised Social Charter and strengthen efforts in decreasing social inequalities. Speaking on short-term priorities of the Council of Europe, he stressed that the organisation was focused on monitoring activities of all member states and announced that the report on key trends of human rights in Europe, which would be presented at the Minister’s Hour in Vienna, on 5 and 6 May 2014.
